May 2018 - New Track Rigs

Holocene continues to grow with the addition of several new rigs and services. We have recently added two track rigs, a new Diedrich D-50 and a Central Mine Equipment CME-850. Both rigs are off road capable and can drill auger and mud rotary. Both have automatic sampling hammers for accurate geotechnical sampling. The D-50 is a rubber track rig making it suitable for both off road and pavement. The CME is a steel tracked rig that makes it more back woods capable.

February 2018 - Down-Hole Video Services

Holocene Drilling now owns and operates a down-hole camera video service.  The R-Cam 1000 XLT is a portable, dual view borehole camera system with either a downhole or 360 degree side view profile. The system works for 3” to 12” diameter wells and is equipped with a lighting system, 9’ LCD color video monitor/recorder and a potable power supply .  Wells up to 1000’ in depth can be videoed.  An onscreen display shows the depth in feet and tenths of feet. The system is highly portable and weighs only 18 pounds.

July 2017 - Swamp Buggy Drilling over Regulated Waterway

Holocene Drilling worked with GeoEngineers to drill and install multiple piezometers, monitoring wells and instrumentation wells up to 150’ in depth in a regulated, urban wetland as part of the Sound Transit light rail Lynnwood Link Extension at the Scriber Creek wetland. A motorized, track mounted pontoon swamp buggy was the best option to transit both deep and shallow water environments without damaging the root systems of sensitive wetland. The swamp buggy, measured 20 feet wide and 35 feet long has a ground loading of only 2 pounds/square inch. All rig re-fueling, supplies and crew were transported from the staging area to the swamp buggy via a flat-bottomed boat.

March 2017 - Geoprobe 7722 DT track rig

Holocene has added the industry standard Geoprobe 7822DT track direct push probe rig to our fleet. The rig is compact in size, has rubber tracks to access both off road and pavement projects. We run soil and water sampling tooling, can perform remedial injections and Standard and dual tube soil sampling standard and dual tube soil sampling.
